The funniest movie this year.
By Shelli Sonstein - Clear Channel
I honestly can’t remember when I laughed so much at a film. Maybe the last time was Borat, so as soon as I saw Sacha Baron Cohen was an executive producer , I knew this would be a treat. What a tasty dish it is and surprisingly tender. Steve Carrell has never been funnier . His chemistry with Paul Rudd is as good as it gets.
Rudd plays an up and coming financial analyst on the verge of a huge promotion- depending on how he does at the boss’ monthly dinner which cruelly culminates in a trophy prize to the biggest “idiot” who is brought as a guest . Employees compete to bring the biggest idiot for biggest laughs. All this leads to answering the obvious question: who are the real schmucks here.
While this is Carrell’s triumph, every comedic actor shines brightly in this film. And what a parade we get: Jemaine Clement of “Flight of the Conchords”; ventriloquist Jeff Dunham; Ron Livingston and Zach Galifianakis. Zach and Jemaine’s roles are priceless.
Scene after scene this film just gets stronger and strong. Please sir, may I have another???
